I’m interested in learning more about different techniques to change a child’s behavior. I’ve heard of limiting sugar, quitting additives and food dyes. Also cutting out dairy and wheat. Just wondered if there were other dietary restrictions that could help.

We hired a new baby sitter about a month ago for my 6 year old son for after school daycare from 4pm to 6pm when we get home. In the last 3 weeks my son has totally changed his behavior. Doesn’t want me or my husband in the bathroom when he’s in the bath, doesn’t want to associate with family, doesn’t ever want to eat, doesn’t want to play with friends ETC. My husband and I have tried talking to him about whats going on thinking it might be something at school or at hockey. He keeps telling us its nothing, but I know something is wrong and its scarring us!!
my husband thinks this could be a reaction to the new babysitter, or the new babysitter said or did something wrong…I think its school or hockey but i could be wrong

He isquite disrespectful, selfish and lazy. I know I didn’t do him a favor by allowing him to do whatever and having a lack of discipline when he was younger, but he is very self minded and doesn’t allow anybody influence himself, he is also very good at pushing people’s buttons.
He is the 9 yrs old and the only child.
